COLUMBIA FALLS – A big third quarter lifted the Columbia Falls boys’ basketball team to a 47-42 Northwestern A victory over Libby at the Wildcats’ gym on Saturday.
Columbia Falls trailed 26-22 at the half, but outscored the Loggers 20-9 in the third.
Luke Kazlauskas netted 13 points while Alex Presnell added 12 for the Wildcats, who improved to 5-1.
Jared Winslow led Libby (2-4) with a game-high 21 points.
Barak Lapka and Kraig Nelson finished with eight points apiece for the Loggers.

At Whitefish, Bridger Truett scored 19 points to lead Frenchtown to a Northwestern A win over the Bulldogs.
John Chapman added 13 points for the Broncs, who are now 2-1 in conference play and 4-2 overall.
Cooper Olson and Jace Kalbfleisch led Whitefish (0-1, 2-3) with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
