DeWit earns Frontier honor

Kelsey DeWit of Montana Tech was named Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

DeWit is a 6-foot-2 junior center from Columbia Falls. Montana Tech opened its season by going 2-0 over the weekend. The Orediggers beat Montana Western 72-61 and South Dakota Tech 86-56.

DeWit averaged 17 points, 8.5 rebounds, two assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals. She was 13 of 18 from the field (72 percent) and 8 of 9 from free throw line (89 percent).

Also nominated: Lindsey Abramson of the University of Great Falls, Janae Moore of Dickinson State and Nikki Tresch of Montana State-Northern.
