KATS LOST TO DEFENDING STATE CHAMPS, BILLINGS CENTRAL--3-0
BILLINGS CENTRAL 3 COLUMBIA FALLS 0
Central girls soccer tops Columbia Falls
COLUMBIA FALLS -- Reigning four-time state champion Billings Central improved to 5-0 Friday by blanking Columbia Falls 3-0 in Class A girls soccer.
The Rams, who have won 63 of their last 64 games, received goals from Maya Arce, Mariah Wittman and Holly Davison. Hadley Ryan was the winning goalie for Central.
“This was our best game so far this season," said Rams coach Laurie Stergar. "Columbia Falls came out hard and physical. Our midfield played a great game.
"Our two best players today were Kelsi Nusbaum and Becca Shipp, they totally controlled the inside center of the field. And Sammy Elliott was amazing in the outside.”
It was Central's fifth shutout to start the season. The Rams have outscored opponents 29-0 to date.
The Rams outshot the Wildkats, 16-4.
