Alabama native Jennifer Schuble picked up a silver medal Saturday in the women's 500m time trial. She and teammates Joseph Berenyi and Sam Kavanagh also won the bronze medal in the mixed team sprint on Sunday.

To prepare for the London Games, Schuble, 36, trained at the Dick Lane Velodrome in East Point. This is her second Paralympics; she won one gold and two silver medals in the 2008 Beijing Games.

When she's not cycling, she works full-time as an engineer for Mercedes-Benz in Alabama.

According to her personal website, Schuble suffered a traumatic brain injury in a hand-to-hand combat class she took while attending West Point. Schuble's right arm was later crushed in a car accident, and she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2004.

Oswego's Joseph Berenyi won a second Paralympic Games medal Sunday.

Berenyi was part of the three-member U.S. team that took bronze in the track cycling mixed sprint.

He anchored the trio, including Sam Kavanagh of Coram, Mont. and Jennifer Schuble of Houston that beat the Czech Republic for the bronze.
