COLUMBIA FALLS – Rock-solid pitching lifted Columbia Falls to a Class A nonconference doubleheader sweep of Havre on Saturday.
Ashley Trueblood and and Catie King combined to no-hit the Blue Ponies in the Wildkats’ 5-1 win in the first game before King, Shaun Rowe and Winter Kemppainen lifted Columbia Falls to victory by allowing just one hit in the second game.
Columbia Falls managed just three hits off Havre pitcher Rachel Majers in the opener. Rowe doubled and tripled and collected a pair of RBIs and Madison Sandefer contributed a single.
The Wildkats pulled away from a 1-1 deadlock with a four-run fifth inning.
Rowe hit a solo home run in the second contest and Sandefer doubled and drove in three.
Masha Barnekoff’s single in the nightcap was the only hit off Columbia Falls on the afternoon.
The Wildkats trailed 6-0 before scoring 10 times in the bottom of the fourth.

Kalispell Glacier splits with Helena schools
At Helena, the Wolfpack split a pair of Western AA games in the Capital City, beating Helena High 10-1 and falling to Helena Capital 11-1.
Jenna Willis led Glacier to its win over Helena, pitching a complete game and going 3 for 5 at the plate. She belted a pair of doubles and drove home a run.
Katie McHugh added a double and two RBIs for the Wolfpack, who banged out 10 hits.
Capital turned the tables on the Wolfpack, belting 14 hits in a game that was shortened to five innings via the 10-run margin rule.
Willis had two hits, including a double.
Jayden Tripp led Capital with three hits.

Helena schools sweep Kalispell Flathead
At Helena, the Bravettes dropped a pair of Western AA games, falling 6-2 to Helena Capital and 8-3 to Helena High.
The Bravettes grabbed a 2-0 lead against Capital, only to see the Bruins score three in both the fifth and sixth innings to pull out the win.
Shayla Tweet had two of Flathead’s eight hits while Taylor Twichel and Adrienne Carroll each drove home runs.
The Bravettes fell behind Helena High 8-0 before rallying for three runs in their final at-bat.
Julie Morrow and Julie Dawson had two hits apiece for Flathead.
Alex Pappas had three hits, including a double, and drove home three for Helena.

At Libby, Hannah England threw a three-hitter as the Loggers scored the Northwestern A win in five innings due to the 10-run margin rule.
England struck out seven and walked just one in earning the complete-game victory.
Kelsey Klin was 2 for 3 with a triple and Kim Tangen singled and doubled as Libby collected 12 hits. Mahalah Wedel added a pair of singles for the Loggers.
Malia Morris, Peyton Twete and Micah McFeely each had a single for the Bulldogs.

Deer Lodge wins a pair
At Troy, the Wardens won both games of a Western B-C doubleheader, downing Troy 16-3 in five innings due to the 10-run margin rule before edging the Trojans 11-10.
Ivy Duncan was 2 for 4 with three RBIs for Deer Lodge in the first game, while Michele Christnacht singled twice and Dani Walker doubled and plated a pair.
Delaney Knuchel pitched the entire game for the Wardens and allowed six hits and two walks. She struck out three.
Audrey Messerly was 2 for 3 with a double for Troy.
Knuchel earned the win in relief of Christnacht in the second game. She went 4 2-3 innings and surrendered two hits and a walk while fanning six.
Walker drove in two, Knuchel was 2 for 3 with an RBI and Hunter Therriault doubled in a 2-for-4 outing for Deer Lodge.
Katie Miller doubled and drove in one for the Trojans (0-4, 0-4).

Plains sweeps Eureka
At Plains, the Trotters took both halves of a high-scoring Western B-C twin bill, downing the Lions 13-12 in the first contest and 17-14 in the second.
Tia Thompson had a two-run homer for Plains in the opener, while Destiny Roberts was 3 for 4 with an RBI as the Trotters collected 14 hits.
Karlena Heward went the distance in the circle for Plains, allowing eight hits and three walks while fanning 10.
Alexa Mrgich was 2 for 4 with an RBI for Eureka.
Thompson pitched Plains (4-2, 4-4) to victory in the nightcap. She gave up seven hits and 11 walks and struck out seven.
Alex Green doubled, tripled and drove in five in a 4-for-5 effort for the Trotters and Sami Kinzie added two singles and a double.
The Lions received two doubles and four RBIs from Cassidy Morgan.
