Kapaun, Maize girls earn league titles

VYPE MAGAZINE - Central Kansas The Class 5A defending state champion Kapaun Mt. Carmel girls whipped Wichita Heights, 55-36, Friday night to gain a share of the City League title.
Kapaun (17-3 overall, 15-1 league) shares the league title with Wichita South (19-1, 15-1).
The Maize girls edged Newton, 40-37, to win the AVCTL Division I championship. The Eagles are 18-2 overall and 10-2 in the league, while Newton dropped to 16-4 and 9-3.
