VYPE MAGAZINE - Central Kansas Greg Slade, who helped lead the Rose Hill Rockets to the Class 4A state championship in 2011, has been hired as the new coach at Campus High School.
Slade, whose Rose Hill team was 4-6 in his 15th season, replaces Mike Schartz. Schartz, who was let go following the season, was 6-31 in four seasons. Slade had a record of 96-58 in 15 seasons at Rose Hill, including a 13-1 record during the 2011 state championship season.
Campus, which competes in the rugged Division I of the AVCTL, has had back-to-back 1-8 seasons and just eight victories over the past six years.
