Bishop Carroll star to run at Missouri

Two-time state cross country champion Kaelyn Balch of Bishop Carroll High School has made a verbal commitment to to run at the University of Missouri next year.
Balch won the Class 5A state championship as a junior and a senior, edging Valley Center's Morgan Wedekind in a photo finish in October. She also finished second as a freshman and sophomore.
As a junior on the track last May at the State Outdoor, Balch finished second in the 3,200 run, third in the 1,600 run and was a member of the winning 3,200 relay team.
Balch also received offers from Colorado State, Kentucky, Oklahoma State and Wichita State.
