July 17, 2012

Wichita North senior guard Conner Frankamp broke a bone in his left foot at an AAU tournament in St. Louis over the weekend and could be out 4-8 weeks.

Playing for KC Run GMC, Frankamp suffered the hairline fracture during a game on Sunday.  Doctors in St. Louis told the 6-foot-1 guard he would be out four to eight weeks, but wouldn't need a cast or surgery.

Frankamp, ranked as the No. 28 player in the country by rivals.com, was undercut during a game while driving in for a layup and came down on ackwardly on his foot.

Frankamp was the state's leading scorer as a junior in 2011-12, averaging 35 points for North High and was a first-team all-state selection. He recently returned from Lithuania where he was the leading scorer on the gold medal-winning USA team at the U17 World Championships.
