Ellis earns national award

VYPE MAGAZINE - Central KansasPerry Ellis has earned one more award for his brilliant four-year basketball career at Wichita Heights.
Ellis, who graduated from Heights last month, was named senior boys basketball player of the year by the National High School Coaches Association.
Ellis was a McDonald’s All-America selection a four-time first-team all-state player, a four-time Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year and helped lead the Falcons to four consecutive Class 6A state championships.
The 6-foot-8, 220-pound Ellis averaged 25.8 points and 9.4 rebounds as a senior and set a City League scoring record with 2,231 career points.
