Jackson carries a .357 batting average through 22 games this season with nine stolen bases and only two strikeouts in 70 at bats. In recent years, Jackson has been a key contributor for coach Al Cooper's team, which has won three consecutive sectionals and a regional title last season. The Class 3A Dragons are 20-3 on the season and ranked second in this week's IHSBCA Poll. The speedy middle infielder/outfielder was a running back/wide receiver on the football team. In early October, he suffered a fractured and dislocated right ankle on the opening kickoff against Greenfield-Central. Jackson battled back from the injury this winter to play baseball this season. He is the son of Mike and Tina Jackson. ![]() Photo submitted Brett Jackson tries on his new colors during his signing ceremony at New Palestine High School.
