Home » Football NewsHS Football North-South All-Stars AnnouncedMarch 8, 2013 VYPE MAGAZINE - Central IndianaBy Erica Rath VYPE Magazine (Central Indiana) The Indiana Football Coaches Association announced the 2012-13 North-South Indiana All-Star team rosters on Thursday. The game will be played at North Central High School on Friday, July 19. The team from the South has won the previous two years, in 2011 by a score of 12-7 and last year the South won 16-7. However, the score has historically been fairly close. Central Indiana is represented by 23 schools this year. Dani Hartnet, the manager from Westfield, was chosen as one of three at her position. Coach Mike Kirschner of Ben Davis was picked as the head coach of the South team, while Chris Bombei of Avon High School will be an assistant coach. The offense line will consist of three players from our coverage area. Chase Alexander of Avon helped his team to a 7-4 regular season record, Matt Sinclair from Carmel helped the Greyhounds to just a one loss season, and Michah Brown from Southport helped the team to a 5-5 season. Anthony Warrum of Heritage Christian will be representing Central Indiana at the wide receiver position. He led his team to a 9-2 season with 26 receiving touchdowns. Lawrence Central’s Alex Rodriguez will be the lone fullback for the South. He averaged 8.4 yards per carry this past season. Running backs Ryan Ripp of Hamilton Southeastern and Chad Banschbach of Lawrencburg made the team. Ripp had 22 touchdowns on the season while Banschbach had a season high 343 rushing yards in a single game. Griffin Oakes of Greenwood with be the place kicker for the South. On defense, DeShaun Johnson of Ben Davis (44 tackles) and Ethan Runnebohm of Shelbyville were selected as defensive ends. Defensive tackles Jon Staton (43 tackles) of Tri-West, Perry Meridian’s Donte Winfield (40 tackles) and Cody Moore (22 tackles) of Fishers also made the team. All four inside linebackers will be from Central Indiana: Andy Spears of Mount Vernon (Fortville), Conner Ludwig of Brownsburg, Rob Dury of Chatard and Mason Nickell of Roncalli. Brownsburg cornerback Garrett Isch, Warren Central cornerback Tre Moore and Center Grove cornerback Mario Swann were all selected to the team. Both free safeties are also from the Indianapolis area: Cole Johnson of Avon and Dakota Nelson of Triton Central.
