Freshman Debut With a Win

On Thursday, September 9, the freshman played their first ever freshman match against Russellville at home.  

Centralia started with the serve and watched as Holli Dieker served seven in a row.  Then it was a little bit of back and forth for some time against Russellville, but ultimately, Centralia was able to pull ahead with a win with some good plays from the rest of the team.  The ending score of the first set was 25-16.  The second set began with Russellville’s serve, but was dominated with serves from Jenna Greene and Holli Dieker once again.  Centralia ended up on top again with a final score of 25-12.

There are six freshman on the team:
-Holli Dieker (#29) plays outside hitter for the JV and freshman teams.
-Jenna Greene (#25) plays setter and rightside hitter for both the JV and freshman teams.
-Ashley Ledbetter (#18) plays middle hitter for the JV and freshman teams.
-Brittney McBride (#26) also plays middle hitter for both the JV and freshman teams.
-Hannah McCoy (#21) plays setter and rightside hitter for the JV and freshman teams.
-Bailey Vanskike (#2) plays DS at the JV level, but also plays outside hitter for the freshman team.

The Freshman play next against Jeff Jr. and Blair Oaks on Sept. 21 at Jeff Jr. beginning at 5:00pm
