Varsity Girls finish 3rd at Tipton Tournament

The Varsity Girls Volleyball team finished a good day at the Tipton Tournament with a victory over the host Cardinals with a 25-21, 20-25, 15-10 victory in the third place match.  Strong net play, highlighted by several blocks, including one on match point helped fuel the win.  The Panthers started pool play with a 25-17, 16-25 tie with Hallsville.  Pool play continued with a strong come from behind effort in game two to salvage a tie with host Tipton 20-25, 25-23.  The Panthers had a chance to make the championship match with a victory to finish pool play over Russellville but fell to the eventual champion Indians 11-25, 21-25.  The Panthers are now 2-3-2 on the year and will host Mexico on Monday in a JV/Varsity highway 22 doubleheader on Monday night beginning at 6 p.m.
