JV Volleyball wins Tipton Tournament

The Junior Varsity Panther Volleyball squad won the Tipton Tournament on Saturday winning the Championship match in come from behind fashion in 3 games 25-17, 23-25, 15-11.  After trailing 4-0 and 11-9 in game 3, some excellent serving secured the victory for the Lady Panthers.  Becca Etzler served the last 6 points of the match including an ace down the line on match point.  The Panthers got to the Championship match after one win and two ties in pool play.  They started the day with a 25-23, 25-7 win over Hallsville followed by a 23-25, 25-23 tie with Tipton.  Pool play concluded with a 21-25, 25-20 tie with Russellville to secure a spot in the final.  The JV squad is now 4-1-2 on the year and will next play Monday at home against Mexico starting at 6 p.m.
