Home » Baseball NewsPanthers Fall @ FatimaMarch 30, 2012 By David Meyers of Centralia High SchoolThe Centralia baseball team traveled to Fatima on Thursday night and ended up on the short end of an 11-7 score. Sophomore Gannon Peavler started on the mound for the Panthers and gave up 7 runs on just 3 hits in 5 innings, but walks (5) and errors (8) put the team in an early hole they couldn't dig out of. Fatima scored 4 runs in the first and 2 in the second that had the Panthers scrambling from the beginning. Centralia got a run in the 2nd inning, a run in the third and closed the gap to 7-5 with a 3 run 4th. Nathan VanBoening took over on the mound but surrendered 4 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks all but ending the Panther chances. Centralia added a run in the 6th for the final margin. Offensively Alec Ford and Chandler Kovar were both 3/4 with a homerun and 2 rbis's for Centralia. The Panthers host the CCC Pre-Season tournament on Saturday, and play the last 2 games of the day, scheduled for 1:30 and 3:45. Centralia is now 2-3 on the season.
