Every year, there are a number of teams that have target on them. You know the teams that the opponents circle on the schedule. Here are a few of the teams that may face some tougher than usual competition each week.
Alief Taylor – Things took off this past off season and plenty of media coverage headed towards the southwest due to the large amount of talent that the Lions have on the rosters. More than a dozen guys will play major Division I ball over the next couple of years. With that said, there are teams across the city ready to put all of that talent to the test. If you ask any of the guys from the Taylor side of things, they are ready.
Katy – There is never a year when the Tigers are not the team to beat. And why not, there have not been many programs in the Greater Houston area, and the state for that matter that have had the consistent years of success. But like most years, Katy will be up for the task.
Manvel – No longer are the Mavericks the new kids on the block. Last season, they proved to be one of the state’s best. And even though they made the move to Class 5A, the competition will be tougher, but still they should be just fine and make a nice playoff run. But this road may be a bit more stout.
