VYPE Releases the Houston Top 30 Prospects for 2013

VYPE Houston's Class of 2013

 

After further evaluating the 2013 talent pool under a microscope, the class is coming into focus. Players are committing and offers are being scattered about and it's only February. Wait until the early spring. Here's a reshuffled deck of the Top 30 prospects in Houston.

1. Derrick Griffin, Terry, WR, Texas A&M-Commit

Gotta get his grades right to be total package; Kid is Raw

2. Ricky Seals-Jones, Sealy, WR

Great frame and skills. Hard to tell because the competition he plays

3. Deon Hollins, Marshall, DE

Most Coveted position in College Football; He's a good one; Great Grades

4. Jacorey Warrick, Cy Falls, WR

Coach calls him the best player in school history. Freak speed

5. Adam Taylor, Katy, RB

If he doesn't get hurt last year, he could be No. 1

6. Deoundrei Davis, Cy Woods, LB

What how this kid flies up the charts nationally; Great size and can run

7. Torrodney Prevot, Alief Taylor, DE         

Think Morton Ranch's DE Daneal Hunter from 2012 who went to LSU

8. Victor Davis, Terry, DB, Texas A&M-Commit

Best DB in Greater Houston Area

9. James White, Pearland Dawson, RB , Texas A&M-Commit

Haven't seen his best yet; He's hungry

10. Jamar Gibson, Goose Creek, WR, Texas A&M-Commit

Can play DB or WR. Tremendous athlete with good size

11. Hardreck Walker, Westfield, DT               

Tank (Texas), Anthony Smith (Tech), now Walker in the Middle. Beast

12. Maurice Potter, Marshall, OL

Baylor has offered best big man in Fort Bend

13. Jamel James, Cinco Ranch, RB, Ark-Commit

Is he playing himself out of RB Spot? Big-Back needs big year

14. Devin Lauderdale, Bellaire, RB, Texas Tech-Commit

Quick back with big upside. Best skill player in HISD

15. John Wiggins, Alief Taylor, S, Texas A&M-Commit

Rangy Safety; Raw and could move to LB in SEC. Like Alonzo Highsmith Jr. out of HS

16. Maurice Smith, Dulles, DB

Scouts love his speed. But is a Sheroid Evans track star or Woolfolk (Michigan)

17.  Tavares Garner, Manvel, DB, Texas Tech

Nice size corner who has a lot of experience

18. Reggie Chevis, Sharpstown, LB

At LB now, growing into DE. Raw player with good tools; Boise offered

19. Jacobi Hunter, Cy Falls, DT

Baylor likes him. Plays the run well. Big enough

20. Alfred Pullom, Cy Woods, S

Great size and athleticism. Nose for the ball

21. Austin Bennett, Manvel, WR

Made big plays all season. Will have a dozen offers by spring ball

22. Kohl Stewart, St. Pius, QB, Texas A&M-Commit

Best in a soft QB Class. Baseball stud also

23. Kyle Fulks, Katy, DB/WR

Track speed, football savvy

24. Keith Whitely, La Porte, RB

All-purpose guy will be great fit for mid-level DI

25. Everett Anderson, CE King, DE

Lost a Great Coach. Great grades, size and motor                    

26. Brice Peters, Cy Falls, RB

Great wheels, gets overlook in a great RB Class

27. Tyree Gray, Klein Forest, DE

Bit of a Tweener between LB and DE. Makes plays

28. Jalyn Judkins, Manvel, WR

Bookend guy at 6-foot-2. Made plays through playoff run

29. Temi Alaka, Cy Falls, WR

Grades are off the charts; so is 6-3 frame and ability

30. Latravien Gee, Jersey Village, DB

Same School as Texas A&M's Stephen Campbell. Similar player
