Pike and Lawrence Central joining Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference

Pike and Lawrence Central will be officially aligned with the MIC beginning in the 2013-14 school year. The MIC will continue as an eight team conference in football. Terre Haute North and South will align with Conference Indiana beginning this Fall for football only. The MIC will be a ten team conference in all other sports for the 2013-14 school year. This will be for one year only. Beginning in the 2014-15 school year, the Terre Haute schools will become part of another conference or remain as independents.

The MIC athletic directors met on Friday, January 25th to work out the 2013 football schedule and to begin working on future football schedules. Subsequent meetings will work on the other 2013-14 athletic schedules. For baseball, softball, boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball and volleyball, all efforts will be made to include Pike and Lawrence Central in the 2013-14 schedules at the varsity level. All other sports will have one day events that will automatically include Pike and Lawrence Central.

The final 2013-14 varsity & JV boys’ basketball schedules will not be complete for another two months. The 2013 Center Grove football schedules are below.
