Center Baseball Humbled

April 20, 2011
Center High School

Kansas City, MO - The Center Boy's Baseball team reverted back to the old ways in a 21-0 loss to conference foe Warrensburg on Monday night.

With expectations high after a competitive performance against Smith-Cotton High School, the Jackets took a step backwards...the culprit, the inability to throw consistent strikes on the mound, lack of potency at the plate and a mass collection of errors from virtually every position.

The Jackets take to the practice field to retool and refocus in preparation for their reschedule match-up with Van Horn for the South Kansas City Baseball Classic Championship this Friday, April 22.

JV Steals the Show

Kansas City, MO - After a two-week layoff, the Center High School Junior Varsity Boys Baseball team had a great outing against the Tigers from Warrensburg.

Although the Jackets ended the game scoreless, that did stop them from making it interesting. After completing 2 innings scoreless, the Tigers made their move scoring two runs in the bottom of the 3rd.

After a three-up, three-down 4th inning, the Jackets were unable to capitalize leaving two runners on.

A strong performance at the plate by Caleb Ownby, and great defense in the field kept, notably LF Larron Williams and 1B Jaante' Perkins the game close.

Great job after a long layoff!

See you at the park!!
