Home » Wrestling NewsCenter Pulls off the ImpossibleMarch 12, 2012 By Brad Sweeten of Center High SchoolThe 17th Western Missouri / Center Wrestling Tournament was a huge success this past Saturday January 14. 17 teams competed in the all day tournament. Center Head Coach Alan Isom and his crew of workers ran six mats non-stop all day without a hitch. Center wrestlers DeAndre White and Maliek Collins both took 1st Place. Workers and coaches were well fed by friendly Center Booster Club workers. Center iHigh workers continually broadcast six LIVE cameras...PLUS provided LIVE interviews from the Center iHigh Studio. Local Kansas Ciy broadcast personality Margo Hurst and her cheerleader helpers, Katherine Davidson and Diamond Jones, hosted several entertaining and informative interviews. Cameraman Austin Altahaber provided expert tech and video help. Colton Althaber and Elizabeth Sweeten posted wrestler information and kept mat and wrestler parings up to date so athletes can find their matches in archeived videos. Travis Hume was the man behind the video scene. Travis set up, figured out and was the calming voice behind the whole operation! David Fritz took fantastic still pictures of everyone at the tournament. Parent and supporter Kerry Ostergard also posted featured photos of the matches. Center would also like to thank Center grad Ryan Jobey for great camera work, Center tech Bruce Rehmer, a HUGE thanks to iHigh guru David Kravetz for putting up with a crazed AD. Great job Yellowjackets! Some said we couldn't pull this off without outside help. We did it ourselves...we should be proud of the tremendous accomplishment. What more will we do next year????
