The Las Vegas City Council Recognizes Centennial Boys 4A XC Champions 2008/12/17

January 8, 2009
Centennial High School

December 17, 2008

Centennial High School's - Councilman Steven D. Ross of Ward 6 and the Las Vegas City Council recognize the high schools Boy's Cross Country 4A Nevada State Champions, it is the first time in 10 years that a Southern Nevada Boys Team has won the event. This is the first time in Centennial High Schools History that the Boys Cross Country Team has won the title since the school started in 1999. At the presentation Mayor Oscar Goodman spoke and then turned the microphone over to Councilman Ross who recognized the boys achievements and asked Centennial Principal Trent Day to speak, Coach Mike McGuire to speak, and recognized the parents for their support.
We would like to thank the Las Vegas City Councils recognition for our efforts, like to thank them for the opportunity to see a live civics lesson presentation with the Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency    http://www.lvrda.org/  and what good Government involvement can do. We would also like to thank Ward 6 Councilman Steven D. Ross and Michelle Thackston and staff for their cooperation and helping support the youth of Las Vegas.
Outside the Las Vegas City Council Chambers Principal Trent Day talks with students about the importance of their achievements and the civics lesson.
