Runnin' Bulldogs have excellent day at the Granville Invitational!

Celina's day began with the Girls Open race. Five Runnin' Women took the course, with Daisha Elliott leading the way. Daisha placed 26th of the 158 girls in the race, with a season best 24:02.3. She was followed by Makenzie Fennig, who took 40th in a career best 24:48.8. Nicole Crites ran a season best 25:07.2 in claiming the 49th position. Julie Owens had a career fastest 25:41.6 to finish 59th. Leah Chen broke the 30:00 barrier for the first time, clocking 29.23.5 and a 120th place result. The quintet placed 8th in their team standings.
The Varisty Girls race was next, with 10 CHS Women running the course. Excellent performances by all 10 resulted in a 5th place team result. Lauren McDonough worked her way through the pack, from 33rd at the mile, to cross the line 7th of the 139 finishers, in a career best time of 20:21.4. Jenna Coon ran well, completing the course in 21:33.9 (season best), good for 24th. A few spots behind was Megan Muhlenkamp, 34th in a career best 21:52.3. Renee Robinson and Nicole Bowsher rounded out the scoring five by virtue of their 46th and 50th place finishes respectively. Renee ran 22:16.1, Nicole 22:30.4, both season best efforts. Beth Garwood (61st, 22:52.3) and Ashley Robinson (68th, career fastest 23:06.6) completed the varsity seven. Audriana Adams (71st, career best 23:17.7), Emma Keeling (77th, career fastest 23:43.3), and Sawyer Weitzel (79th, personal best 23:44.1) bunched together adding depth to the Bulldog Pack.
Celina's Men completed the Bulldog day of CC. Like the Gals, many season or career best efforts were put forth. In a competitive team race, the Guys earned an 8th place result. Drew Donovan and Roman Mitchell battled throughout to earn 25th and 28th place points. Drew edged Roman 17:34.6 to 17:37.6. Roman's mark established a new personal record. Chad Downey recorded a career fastest 18:03.6 in taking 44th of the 144 participants. Michael Cron was 56th in a season best 18:25.3. Newcomer Stetson Miller was CHS's number five runner, in the 65th slot. He ran a career fastest 18:38.1. Aaron Crites career personal record of 19:09.8 put him 81st, with Nathan Robinson posting a career best, stopping the clock at 19:32.3. Nathan Higgins closed out the Bulldog day with his 128th place, 23:06.8 run.

Next up...at home (Eastview Park) for a dual meet vs Grand Lake rival St Marys, on Tuesday, September 2, with a 4:30 PM start. The race will be competed at the 2-mile distance...a 'Speed Meet'.
