Celina vs Ottawa Glandorf
Bulldogs complete 10-0 dual meet seasons.
Tuesday afternoon, May 6, the Runnin' Bulldogs traveled to Ottawa for their final dual meet of the season. The host Ottawa-Glandorf Titans would provide stiff competition for the Bulldogs, who looked to complete perfect 10-0 dual meet seasons. CHS had its hands full with the always competitive Titans. The Boys contest came down to the final event (the pole vault) to decide a winner. The Dogs took 2nd and 3rd to clinch the team win and 10-0 dual record, by a 70-67 score. The Girls had a somewhat easier time as they outscored the host school 96-41. Both girls teams were missing key components, due to injury. Depth was a factor on the Boys side of the ledger. Although CHS won only 7 of 17 events, many 2nds and thirds pushed the Bulldogs over the top. The Gals took first in 11 events.
The Boys were led by five individual event winners. Jack Hinders took the long jump, Stefan Chittum the 300 hurdles, Roman Mitchell the 3200 run, Jacob Rasawehr the discus and Adam Green the 100 dash. Both sprint relays, the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relays also collected wins.
On the Distaff side, individual wins came from Bekah Carr (PV, 100H, 300H), Jenna Coon (1600, 3200), Alyssa Hoyng (HJ), Kelly Moeder (LJ), Ashtyn Phlipot (400), and Kendra Fennig (200). CHS's other wins came vis the 4 x 800 and 4 x 100 relays.
Next up...at the Mercer County Meet, May 8-9.
