Runnin' Women WIN the Upper Sandusky, Gerald Swankhouse Invitational!

Girls WIN, Boys 2nd!

Saturday, April 26 was a great day to be a Runnin' Bulldog.  Celina's track athletes completed a grueling 12 day stretch, which included 5 meets and prom, by WINNING and taking 2nd at the Upper Sandusky Gerald Swankhouse Invitational.  The Runnin' Women captured the 'Team' Championship by edging a good Oak Harbor crew 142-131 in the 8 school field.  The Guys came within 5 points of defeating a very strong River Valley program, falling 138.5-133.5.  On the day, CHS scored in every event, with three 1-2 finishes and multiple events in hich the Dogs had 2 placers.

Coming off Prom on Friday night, the junior and senior Prom Bulldogs came to compete in the early morning meet.  The Ladies were led by seven gals who comtributed double digit points.  Junior Bekah Carr had a stellar day as she WON all 4 of her events (LJ, PV, 100H, 300H), good for 40 points.  In doing so she broke her own 'School PV Record' and ' Swankhouse Meet Record' with her 11'0"  effort.  Her efforts were rewarded with the 'Top Dog' award, given to the meet's top female athlete.  Seniors Kendra Fennig (100, 200 and 2 relays), and Autumn Brehm (shot put and discus), along with junior Megan Imwalle (HJ, 2 relays) all contributed 12 points to the Girls 142 total.  Sophomore Emily Jackson (100H, 300H, PV, 1 relay) picked up 25 points.  Freshmen Ashtyn Phlipot (11 1/2 pts) and Alyssa Cisco (10 pts) were the other dogs scoring double digits.

Senior Stefan Chittum, in his first year of track, led the Boys with his 24 1/2 point day.  He WON the 300H, tied for 2nd in the HJ, and was 3rd in the 110H.  Senior Jack Hinders picked up the Bulldogs only other individual WIN as he took the LJ, to go with his 3rd place PV and tie for 5th HJ (17 1/2 total points).  Senior Cole Mertz picked up 15 1/2 points (1600, 800, and 2 relays).  Juniors Grant Bader (100, 200, 2 relays) and Cole Stephens (3 relays and 300H) added 11 1/2 points each to the men's runner-up total.  Sophomores Roman Mitchell (10 pts) and Garret Winget (9 1/2 pts) also had nice days.
