Final Indoor Track Meet, before 'State'!
March 2, 2014By Daniel Otten of Celina High School
Friday evening, Feb 28 Celina's Bekah Carr took part in the Findlay University's H S Indoor Meet #3. Bekah used the meet to try and qualify for the 'State Indoor Championship Meet' which is March 8 at the University of Akron.
Bekah and Michaela Wenning look to qualify in a number of events, as the top 16 performances, throughout the winter, in each event earn spots at 'State'. Things are looking good for Micky in the HJ, LJ, and 60m hurdles. While Bekah is solid in the LJ, HJ, and triple jump.
On Friday Bekah entered the pole vault and 60m hurdles. She placed 2nd of 49 hurdlers in a career best time of 9.50, a .29 second drop in time. The 9.50 places her in the top 16 for the moment. In the pole vault she cleared 10' 0", finishing 5th of the 29 vaulters. Her nest indoor effort in that event, at 10' 4" is on the 'State' qualifying cut line.
Michaela and Bekah will find out March 3, which events they will participate in at 'State'.
