Ohio Northern Elite Meet!
Saturday, Jan 11, ten Celina track and field athletes began the 2014 indoor season as participants in the High School Elite Track & Field Meet, hosted by Ohio Northern University and the Western Ohio Track Officials Association. Athletes from Michagan, Indiana, and far reaching corners of Ohio competed.
Celina's contingent got the winter off to an excellent start as three 'School Indoor Records' were broken. Highlighting the Bulldog day were the WINNING long jump effort of Bekah Carr, her indoor record in the pole vault (2nd place), Holli Brackman's indoor 200m record, and Ashtyn Phlipot's indoor 400m record! The boys vaulters finished 2-3-4 with Sam Phares clearing the second highest in CHS indoor history, 2" off the record. Jack Hinders cleared his career best in the high jump. Cole Mertz placed 3rd in the 1600m run.
