Three CHS Track and Field athletes participate...and score at State Indoor Championships!

State Indoor Track and Field Meet!

On Saturday, March 15 three Runnin' Women took part in the Division II-III State Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Akron.  Michaela Wenning, Gina Strable, and Bekah Carr earned the right to compete for State Titles by recording 'top 16' performances, from around the state, in their respective events, at some time during the 1013 indoor season.  The meet was a success for the trio as all three earned spots on the podium as top 8 placers.  On Saturday, Michaela cleared a career best 5' 3" in the high jump to place 3rd.  Gina jumped an indoor career best of 16' 7.25" to finish 6th in the long jump.  Bekah competed in three events, all of which were competed at the same time.  She litteraly ran back and forth from event to event in the high jump, pole vault, and 60m hurdles.  Bekah cleared 5' 0" in the HJ (tied for 8th), vaulted 9' 0" for 8th in that event and finished her day as she ran a career fastest 9.81 for the 60m hurdles, good for 12th.

The complete CHS Track team opens its 2013 campaign on Tuesday, April 2 at home vs Spencerville and Grand Lake Christian.
