Waterdogs at Sectional!

Saturday, Feb 9, Celina's Waterdogs completed D-II Sectional action at Ayersvile H. S.  (The diving part of the sectional took place Friday at Napoleon.)  Swimmers, like the divers, were looking to advance to the Bowling Green State University NW D-II Distsrict Meet Feb 13, 15.  In order to advance to District, individuals/relays had to win the Sectional Championship or have a performance placing in the top 32 (24 for relays) of the entire District.  District qualifiers will be announced Sunday, Feb 10.

Matt May's Waterdogs had a nice day at the Ayersville site, with many performances worthy of District qualification.  Both the Guys and Gals placed 2nd in the final Sectional Team Standings.  Highlighting the afternoon were the Sectional Record setting performances of Michaela Wenning and the Girls 200 free relay, as well as the double wins of Kasyn Fishbaugh (50 free and 100 breast).  Michaela swam a career best in the 50 free, while the quartet of Brooke Mertz, Megan Muhlenkamp, Paige Dorsten, Michaela swam the fastest 200 free relay in Ayersville Sectional history.  Automatic District qualifiers, by virtue of 1st place finishes, came from: Michaela (50 free), Olivia Schlotterer (dive), Kasyn Fishbaugh (50 free and 100 breast), Tyus Temple (100 fly), the Girls 200 medley relay, Girls 200 free relay, Girls 400 free relay, and the Boys 200 medley relay.
