Andrew Goodwin places 11th at State!

Saturday afternoon a pair of Celina H S seniors, Andrew Goodwin and Ashley Figel participated in the Ohio High School Athletic Association's State Cross-Country Championships on the grounds of Scioto Downs.  On a windy, warm day the duo ran in the Division II Boys and Girls races respectively.  Ashley took the course first and completed the 5000-meter distance in 20:15 which was good enough for the 42nd spot in a field of 148 runners.  In the guys competition, Andrew clocked a 16:24 earning him an 11th place result of 146 runners, and 'All Ohio' accolades.  His excellence in the classroom and on the CC course garnered him 'Academic All Ohio' honors.  Andrew's 11th place is the highest ever for a Celina male cross-country athlete at the state level.

Andrew and Ashley will run in the Nike Midwest Regional CC Meet on Sunday, November 15 in Terra Haute, IN.
