Celina Waterdogs on Senior Night!

Saturday, Jan 5 Celina's Waterdogs hosted its final home, and annual tri meet vs rivals Coldwater and St Marys.  The night was highlighted by the recognition of the schools' seniors, taking part in their final home meet.  CHS honored 12 seniors, along with St Marys two.  Representing Matt May's Waterdogs were seniors: Hannah Archer, Collen Byer, Paige Dorsten, Kandace Eichenauer, Julie Folk, Andy Golden, Lucas Goodwin, Lisa Hoenie, Brooke Mertz, Jamie Miller, Katlin Robinson, and Holly Thobe.

In the pool CHS had a successful meet, with both the Guys and Gals picking up tri meet WINS.  The Guys amassed 168 points, to St Marys' 143 and Coldwater's 59.  On the distaff side Celina totaled 228 to St Marys' 118 and Coldwater's 39.

The Men were headed by Tyus Temple's double win evening.  Tyus touched first in the 50 free and 100 free.  The Dogs' only other win came from the 200 free relay.  Depth was the key for the Boys victory.  As an example, the 200 free relay placed 1-2-3, scoring huge points.  Runner-up finishers came from the efforts of Ryan Miller (200 free), Hagan Kriegel (200 IM), Kerry Jutte (500 free), and the 200 medley relay.  Taking third were: Lucas Goodwin (50 free), Hagan (100 fly), Chandler Kimmel (100 back), and the 400 free relay.

The Swimmin' Women were dominate in their victory, almost doubling the total of runner-up St Marys.  The Ladies placed 1-2-3 in the 100 free (Megan Muhlenkamp - 1st, Kandace Eichenauer - 2nd, Maddy Weininger - 3rd), the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay, as well as a 2-3 in the 400 free relay.  These placings came despite the mix and match combinations of Coach May, as he continues to look for late season combinations.  Michaela Wenning (500 free) and Brooke Mertz (100 breast) picked up CHS's other wins.  Katie Hoenie (200 free), Hanah Grabow (200 IM), Paige Dorsten (50 free), Katie Hoenie (100 fly), and Alli Darras (100 breast) touched 2nd in their respective events.  Earning 3rd place points were: Hannah Archer (200 IM), Megan (50 free), and Jenna Coon (100 back).

COMPLETE RESULTS may be found in the 'Document' section.
