Saturday morning, Oct 13 the Celina Bulldog CC Contingent participated in the annual Western Buckeye League Cross-Country Championship Meet. Ottawa-Glandorf hosted the 10-team competition on the grounds of the Ottawa Memorial Park. The Ladies got the meet going, taking the 5000m course first. Four Celina Ladies ran personal best times as the girls finished 5th in the 'team' standings. Twenty-nine points separated the 2nd through 6th place squads. Van Wert won the meet. Jenna Coon continued to lead the Runnin' Women as she crossed the line 6th of the 101 harriers. Her placement as one of the top 12 earned Jenna the honor of 'First Team All WBL'. Katlin Robinson just missed the top 12, finishing 13th, garnering her 'Special Mention All WBL'. The next four CHS runners completed the course in career best times. Kendra Fennig (28th), Beth Garwood (30th), Renee Robinson (31st) and Daisha Elliott (45th) chomped consderable seconds from their previous individual records. Audrianna Adams ran her first race in three weeks, coming off injury to finish 57th. Autumn Brehm (60th) equaled her season best time. holly Thobe rounded out the team effort, taking 64th. The Guys followed the Gals, with six Bulldog Men running career fastest times. For their efforts the Guys captured a fourth place 'team' result. Defiance raced to the WBL title. Like Jenna, Cole Mertz was awarded 'First Team All WBL' accolades by virtue of his 6th place finish. Drew Donovan was a top 24 runner ('Special Mention All WBL'), getting 21st of the 131 competitors. Brandon Downey (28th) and Zach Mitchell (40th) tied their career fastest runs. Jacob Gilstrap split the two in the standings, in 39th. Roman Mitchell (47th), Chad Downey (61st), and Michael Cron (63rd) all lowered personal times. John Hoenie (69th), Aaron Crites (70th), Nathan Higgins (83rd - career best), Luke Bowsher (89th), Dylan Gibbons (96th), and Rob Axe (103rd) completed the Bulldog roster.
