On a perfect morning for cross-country running, the Celina Runnin' Bulldogs competed in the annual Cedarville University's Friendship Invitational on September 15.  Thirty-three H S's took part in the competition, which was divided into 'Big Schools' (Gold), and 'Small Schools' (Blue).  Although all athletes ran in the same race, computer technology separated the results into the proper divisions.  CHS was placed in the 'Big School' division.  

The Guys took the course first, with 456 (306 'Big School') harriers searching for scoring positions and personal best times.  Celina's Men had an excellent day with 12 of the 13 taking part producing career fastest marks. The other ran a season best.  For their efforts the Bulldogs claimed 6th of the 13 'Big Schools' in the team scoring.  Cole Mertz had a stellar day.  He moved from 45th at the mile to a runner-up finish (both overall and in 'Big Schools'), covering the 5000m distance in 16:25.  The performance knocked :29 off his personal best, set a year ago.  Drew Donovan finished 35th in 17:50.  Jacob Gilstrap (60th, 18:12), Brandon Downey (66th, 18:13), and Zach Mitchell (78th, 18:20) completed the scoring five, all five in career fastest times.

The Ladies also performed well, with eight of the nine running season or career best marks.  Like the Guys, the Gals finished 6th of the 13 'Big Schools'.  Jenna Coon crossed the line 17th of the 233 'Big School' girls, tripping the clock at a season fastest 20:19.  Katlin Robinson was next (42nd) with a season best 21:26.  Renee Robinson (69th, 22:35), Kendra Fennig (85th, 23:13), and Audriana Adams (94th, 23:32) rounded the scoring five, all with career best clockings.
