Home » Cross Country NewsFour Former Bulldogs compete at the University of Akron's Tommy Evans Inv.September 6, 2012 By Daniel Otten of Celina High SchoolThursday evening four former Celina CC Bulldogs opened their 2012 Collegiate CC seasons at the same invitational. Mitch Williams (Malone), Peter Starnes (Marshall), Andrew Goodwin (Kent State), and Hannah Fleck (Kent State) competed in the 44th Annual Tommy Evans Invitational, hosted by the University of Akron, on the challenging Firestone Metropark Course. The Ladies took the line first. Hannah finished 18th overall (4th for KSU) with a clocking of 19:42 for the 5K distance on a hot, humid day. The Men took the course next, running a 4-mile distance. Mitch led the way for the former Dogs as he placed 3rd overall (2nd for Malone) with a mark of 20:44. His Malone contingent won the 'team' title. Andrew finished in 21:17, good for 13th (3rd for KSU). Peter was 22nd (4th for Marshall) in 21:49.
