Runnin' Women

DISTRICT CHAMPS!

The Celina Runnin' Women captured the Fostoria, Division II, District 2 'Team Championship' on Friday, May 18.  The District Title was last achieved in 2007.  The Lady Bulldogs amassed 155 points, 19.5 more than a very good runner-up Liberty-Benton Squad's 134.50.  Western Buckeye League foe Ottawa-Glandorf took third with 74.5.

Leading the way on the championship afternoon were the winning performances of Bekah Carr, Hannah Fleck, the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relays.  On Tuesday the 4 x 800 relay got things started with a win.  Bekah was a double victor, claiming the long jump and 400 titles,  Hannah won the 800 for the 4th year in a row.  She also took 2nd in the 1600.  Lexi Mills had a pair of runner-up finishes, in her specialties, the 100 and 300 hurdles.  Tuesday Lizz Carr was 2nd in the high jump.  She took 4th in the 100 hurdles on Friday.  Gina Strable was 2nd in the 200 and 3rd in the long jump.  Jenna Coon ran a career best, taking 4th in the 3200.  All top-four placers earned spots in the May 24,26 Lexington Regional.  

Just missing Regional births were Alex Parker (5th in the PV), Michaela Wenning (5th in the 400 and HJ) 

Other scorers (top 8) were Andrea Bell (6th in the 1600), Lizz (6th in the 300 hurdles), Emily Dorsten (6th in the 800), Katlin Robinson (7th in the 3200), Paige Dorsten (6th in the discus), Katie Sutter (6th in the SP), and Kacy Stachler (7th in the PV).
