Boys complete 'Day 1' at Tiffin D-I District Meet!

Wednesday evening, May 17, the Celina Boys traveled to Tiffin for participation in the Columbian Division I District Meet.  Like the girls on Tuesday, athletes were competing for Regional births (a top 4 finish).  For their efforts, two CHS athletes advanced to Friday's running finals and two athletes scored points in field event finals.  Collen Byer and Sam Phares cleared 12' 6" in the pole vault to earn 5th and 6th place points.  Mikel Martinez took 17th in the shot put.  In running prelims Wyatt Jackson advanced to Friday's 110 HH final as he ran the 4th fastest prelim time.  He and Logan Laux move on to the final in the 300 IH as both ran top 8 times.  Collen Byer and Chad Temple failed to qualify in the 100 and 200 dashes respectively.  All three relays (4 x 100, 4 x 200 and 4 x 400) failed to advance.  On Friday five Bulldogs; Wyatt and Logan in hurdle races, Derek Pease in the 1600, Jack Hinders and Collen in the high jump will vie for Regional spots.
