Girls lead WBL race after Day 1!

Wednesday, May 9 was Day one of the Western Buckeye League Track & Field Championship Meet, hosted by Wapakoneta.  The day was reserved for finals in 6 field events and the 4 x 800 relays, as well as preliminary runs in all sprints, hurdles, and sprint relays.  The Runnin' Women got off to a successful start in the chase for the 'Team' Title as they WON the 4 x 800 relay, took 2-3 in the HJ, 3-4 in the discus and 2nd in the PV for a total of 42 points.  Ottawa-Glandorf is following with 27.  The Boys scored 8 points on the opening day, taking third / sixth in the PV and 6th in the SP.  Ottawa-Glandorf leads the Guys with 28 points.

GIRLS

4 x 800 relay of Michaela Wenning, Emily Dorsten, Bekah Carr, and Hannah Fleck - CHAMPIONS- 9:46.95

High Jump - Lizz Carr - 2nd - 5' 4", Michaela Wenning - 3rd - 5' 2"

Pole Vault - Kacy Stachler - 2nd - 9' 8"

Discus - Katie Sutter - 3rd - 103' 10", Paige Dorsten - 4th - 101' 11"

BOYS

Pole Vault - Sam Phares - 3rd - 13' 0", Collen Byer - 6th - 12' 0"

Shot Put - Mikel Martinez - 6th - 44' 10.5"

Celina relays and sprinters/hurdlers did well in the preliminary races, as all but 3 sprinters made it to Firday's finals.
