Celina Bulldogs sweep Elida Bulldogs in dual meet action.

Tuesday afternoon (4/17) the Celina Bulldog Track and Field contingent traveled to Western Buckeye League rival Elida for a dual meet with the host Bulldogs. Both the CHS Men and Women picked up 'team' victories. The Guys faced their toughest test of the season, outscoring Elida 71-65. The victor was in doubt until a 1-2-3 finish by the Celina 3200 Guys sealed the deal. The Ladies had an easier time as they won 122-14, taking first in all 17 events.
Leading the Guys was the distance corp and hurdling crew. CHS swept the first three places in the 300 H, 800, 1600, and 3200 runs and won the 110 H. Event wins came from Derek Pease in the 1600 and 3200 runs, Cole Mertz in the 800. Logan Laux (300 H), Jack Hinders (HJ), and Wyatt Jackson (110 H) also picked up individual victories. The 4 x 100 and 4 x 800 relays also earned first place points. Runner-up performances were produced by Mikel Martinez (SP), Chad Temple (100), Jacob Gilstrap (1600), Braelen Bader (300 H), Derek Pease (800), Collen Byer (200), Zach Mitchell (3200).
The Ladies captured all 4 relays, to go along with the 13 individual event wins. Hannah Fleck crossed the first in the 400, 800 and 3200 runs. Lexi Mills claimed the 100 H and 200, Michaela Wenning the 300 H, Lizz Carr the HJ, Katie Sutter the SP and LJ, Paige Dorsten the discus, Gina Strable the 100, Jenna Coon the 1600, and Kacy Stachler the PV. Earning 2nd place points were Michaela Wenning (HJ and 100 H), Gina Strable (LJ), Andrea Bell (1600 and 3200), Lexi Mills (400), Bekah Carr (300 H and 200).
