Celina Track and Field has success at Patrick Henry Invitational!

Runnin' Bulldogs claim 'Team' titles at Patrick Henry Invitational!

Saturday, April 14 the Celina & Field contingent traveled to Hamler for participation in the eight school Patrick Henry Patriot - Joe Tussing Invitational.  Despite on/off rain and wind the Runnin' Bulldogs competed with success.  For their efforts, both the Gals and Guys earned 'Team Champion' honors.  The Ladies WON 10 of 17 events, including all 4 relays, as they scored a convincing victory.  Celina totaled 206 points, to runner-up Oak Harbor's 79.  Patrick Henry 67, VAn Buren 63, Otsego 43.5, Elmwood 38, Leipsic 18, and Swanton 12.5 completed the field.  The Guys took first in only two events, but used depth in picking op the championship with 106 points.  Elmwood finished second with 95, followwed by PH 78, VB 74, OH 53, Swanton 52, Leipsic 49, and Otsego 19.

Hannah Fleck led the Runnin' Women's effort with her double win afternoon. She took first in both the 1600 and 800 runs.  Other individual event first places came from Lexi Mills (300 H), Kacy Stachler (PV), Michaela Wenning (HJ), and Bekah Carr (400).  The Girls finished 1-2 in the HJ, 400, PV.  For the meet they scored two athletes in all but 2 events and had at least a 'top three' finisher in every event.  Runner-up points were scored by Lizz Carr (HJ), Alex Parker (PV), Michaela Wenning (400), Lexi Mills (100 H), Katie Sutter (LJ and SP), Jenna Coon (3200), Gina Strable (200).  Third place scorers were Katlin Robinson (3200), Paige Dorsten (D), Gina Strable (100), and Lizz Carr (100 and 300 H).

The Guys lone individual victor was Sam Phares in the PV, as the Dogs took 1-2 in the event.  Collen Byer was second in the vault.  CHS's other win came in the 4 x 200 relay.  Earning valuable runner-up points were the 4 x 800 relay, 4 x 100 relay, Adam Green (100), Cole Mertz (1600 and 3200), and Logan Laux (300 H).  Taking thirds were 4 x 400 relay, Derek Pease (3200), adn Jack Hinders (HJ).
