Matt Feltz and the Girls 200 Medley Relay advance! 

Thursday evening Celina's swimming contingent took the pool at the OHSAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championship Meet in Canton.  Wednesday was reserved for the divers, Thursday for preliminary races in all swimming events.  The top 16 times in each event on Thursday earned spots in Friday's Championship Finals, as part of two 8-participant final heats.  The consolation heat on Firday will feature qualifiers 9-16, with the top 8 times competing for State titles.

Celina's day began with the Girls 200 medley relay.  The foursome of Paige Dorsten, Kandace Eichenauer, Alex Parker, and Brooke Mertz finished the distance in 1:56.01, which put the Swimmin' Women in 17th position, one spot form the finals.  The Guys 200 medley relay of Peyton Jones, Kasyn Fishbaugh, Tyus Temple, and Matt Fletz swam 1:43.21 to take 22nd place.  Individually, Brooke Mertz touched the pad in 21st place for her 50 free race, clocking 25.09.  In the Boys 100 fly Matt Feltz swam a career best as he qualified to Friday's finals.  His 53.49 was good for a 13th place tie.  He'll swim in the consolation final on Friday.  Teammate Tyus Temple finished 21st in the same race with a mark of 54.81.  Michaela Wenning, Alex, Brooke, and Paige earned the right to swim Friday by virtue of their 14th place time in the 200 rfee relay.  Like Matt, the Ladies will swim in the consolation final.  Closing out the Bulldog night was the 24th place of the Girls 400 free relay.  Michalea, Kandace, Brooke and Alex combined for a 3:49.53.

Action begins Friday at 5:00.
