Waterdog Men place 2nd at the Celina/Wapakoneta Invite!

Saturday, January 14 the Celina Waterdogs, in conjunction with the Wapakoneta Redskins hosted the annual Celina/Wapakoneta Swimming Invitational. Nineteen schools converged at the Auglaize/Mercer County YMCA for the 'all day' competition. The 2012 edition of the invitational was won by the Shawnee Women and Ottawa-Glandorf Men. Shawnee totalled 306 points to runner-up Lima Central Catholic's 214 and CELINA's 207. OG tallied 230 to outscore CELINA by 28 as CHS amassed 202. Ada took 3rd with 148.
For their efforts Celina's Waterdogs posted 19 'top 5' finishes, led by the 1-2 placing of Matt Feltz and Tyus Temple in the boys 100 fly. Brooke Mertz and Michaela Wenning went 2-3 in the 50 free, as did Peyton Jones and Tyus Temple in the 500 free. Third place points were earned by Kandace Eichenauer (500 free) and Peyton Jones (100 back). Taking fourth were Alex Parker (200 free), Matt feltz (200 free), Kasyn Fishbaugh (200 IM) and Michaela Wenning (100 free). Paige Dorsten toughed fifth in the 100 back. Top relay placings came from the Boys medley relay (Peyton Jones, Kasyn Fishbaugh, Tyus Temple, Matt Feltz) and the Girls 400 free relay (Brooke mertz, Michaela Wenning, Paige Dorsten, Alex Parker) which both touched in second. Third place relays were the Girls medley (Paige Dorsten, Kandace Eichenauer, Michaela Wenning, Brooke Mertz), Girls 200 free relay (Taylor Schenking, Andrea List, Kandace Eichenauer, Alex Parker), and the Boys 200 free relay (Matt Feltz, Tyus Temple, Kasyn Fishbaugh, Peyton Jones).
Next up for the Waterdogs...vs Versailles at the Greenville YMCA on Saturday, Jan 21 with a 5:00 PM start.
