But Friday's trip to Clayton might not be so easy for the Sparkplugs (4-1), as the Cadets (2-3) are in the midst of their first winning streak since 2006. It started with a 39-26 win at Class A Carroll, followed by last week's 14-0 shutout of Cloverdale -- a game that gave the Cadets quite a confidence boost, coach Josh Hagenow said, as it faces a Speedway team that "is always very well coached. They have very good athletes." Either way, according to Hagenow, Cascade appears headed in the right direction. "We've got more kids (participating), the kids are excited about it, the community's excited about it," Hagenow said. "(Friday was) the most people I've seen in the stands in a long time. So things are looking up. We're looking for a good rest of the year."
