January 25, 2013Cascade High School
The Boys Swimming and Diving team fell to the Tri-West bruins last night 93-71. The guys won three events on the night and had 4 of the nine swimmers post personal best times in their events.
Coach Williams knows the uphill battle that his swimmers face “We struggle with not having enough swimmers, but these guys just battle in every event. They continue to improve and keep working toward the goals for the season. As a coach, you can’t ask for anything more”.
The individual winners from last night’s meet were: Jesse Gilmore in the 500 Free and 100 Backstroke and Griffin Crum in the 200 free. Guys that posted personal best times last night were: Griffin Crum in the 200 Free, Houston Fox in the 100 Free, Spencer Berlin in the 100 Free and Jesse Gilmore in the 100 Backstroke.
Coach Williams added that he believes that the guys will continue to drop time and believes that when the sectionals arrive these guys will be ready. “Our guys are tested. They understand what it takes to compete at a high level and Coach Cozart and I believe that we will see great accomplishments from this group”.
The boys are back in the water again this weekend at the Beech Grove Invitational.
