Girls Swimming and Diving Team finds redemption at Greencastle with 94-92 win
January 13, 2013Cascade High School
The Cascade girls swimming and diving team traveled back to Greencastle Wednesday for a meet with the tiger cubs. The same two teams battled it out for the WCC Championship on Saturday with Greencastle winning the championship by 3 points with a win in the last relay.
According to Coach Williams the girls were ready for a fight “Our girls didn’t need any motivation to go out and win this meet, but when they found out this meet was Greencastle’s “senior” night it added a revenge factor”.
First place winners for the Cadets were Tori Breeding in the 200 and 500 freestyle, Regina Solik in the 50 freestyle and the 100 Breaststroke, Hayley Rosales in the 100 Butterfly, Kate Breedlove in the Diving.
The meet had the same back and forth intensity as the conference meet and came down to the same deal. Win the last relay to win the meet. The Cadet girls did just that.
Coach Cozart indicated that the meet was about redemption "I am proud of all our girls, Greencastle is a strong team and they mirror us in many ways so it is really satisfying to beat them head to head".
The win improves the ladies record to 8-2-1 and puts them on track to be the first girls team to post a 10 win season.
The ladies are back in the water at home on Tuesday the 15th when they host the South Putnam Eagles.
