INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Butler softball coach Scott Hall added both power and pitching to his roster with the signing of four talented players during the NCAA Division I Fall Signing Period. The third-year coach received signed commitments from Brandyce Sallee of Cascade High School (Ind.), Alison Tarrant of Mahomet-Seymour High School (Ill.), Kacey Starwalt of Mattoon High School (Ill.) and Chelsea Norwood of Greenwood High School (Ind.).
"We are extremely excited about the 2013 signing class," said Hall of his four recruits. "These four ladies embody what Butler softball is all about. They are all driven, competitive athletes on the field and focused on success in the classroom."
"With this class, we focused on players who are able to play multiple positions and who are ready to come in a compete day in and day out to make our program better. Brandyce, Chels, Ali and Kacey will be great additions to our softball family and will help us continue to build upon the foundation we have established," added the Butler coach.
Sallee is a three-year All-Conference and All-County performer at Cascade. She's a two-time team Most Valuable Player and a two-time Team Captain. The versatile athlete also has earned All-Conference honors for two straight years in volleyball and both All-Conference and All-County recognition for two consecutive years in basketball!
"Brandyce is just a true athlete," stated Hall. "She is a three-sport standout who loves to compete! She will bring an edge to our team, and she is not afraid to lead right away. She is a power threat at the plate with speed. She also can play many defensive positions and play them well."
