Smyth Earns ALL-STATE Recognition

Even though the season is over, Jessica Smyth is still being recognized for her golf achievements.  Recently, Jessica was named 1^st Team ALL-STATE for the Girls Golf season of 2012.  The top 15 girls in the state are selected by the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association. The selections are based on points earned by scores and finishing placement in tourneys in which each girl participated.  Jessica was medalist at the Plainfield Invtl, South Putnam Invtl, and Western Boone Invtl.  She placed 2nd at the McCutcheon Invtl.  She was also medalist at County, Conference, and Sectional.  She placed in a tie for 6th at Regional.  Her overall individual record for 2012 was 549-6-3.  Jessica attended a banquet at Coyote Crossing C.C. in West Lafayette to receive this prestigious award.  

Jessica was also named to the 1st team All-State Academic team as voted by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association.  The criteria for this award include; GPA, SAT/ACT scores, Class Rank, and must be a senior playing at the Varsity level.  This honor is reserved for the top 20 senior golfers in Indiana.
