Batting Cage Recovering
July 20, 2009 By Kurt Glendenning of Cary High School
The baseball team could use some help preparing the roof arches for a new plastic cover.
Construction around the batting cage several years ago damaged the treated 2x4's holding the plastic at the base on both sides of the arches. All the broken material needs to be removed before we do some hand shovel grading and install new treated 2x6's. The lumber was attached by U bolts and nuts. Those U bolts and nuts can be removed with some WD40 and some wrenches.
I don't think any of the material removed is worth salvaging. There is a dumster on site that we can despose of that material.
If you could give us a hand, it would speed up the process of getting a cover over the arches for an indoor facility. You can do this work at your convenience.
Thank you!
