CARY - The date Feb. 2, 2011 will be remembered as a historic one for Panther Creek's wrestling. It will mark the first time Cary has not won a conference title since 1983.
The Catamounts (18-2, 8-0) won 31-25, but needed a final-bout win from senior Anthony Mejia to pull off the biggest win in program history. Cary (25-3, 7-1).
"I really don't know what to say. I'm beside myself," Panther Creek Jon Armfield said. "If we were going to do it, this was the year to do it."
