BY J. MIKE BLAKE, SPORTS EDITOR

CARY - Green Hope's boys and Apex's girls couldn't have gone about defending their Tri-Nine Conference swimming and diving championships any differently Saturday at the Michael Curran Aquatic Center in Cary.

In the boys competition, the Falcons dominated from start-to-finish, racking up 685.5 points — comfortably ahead of second-place Apex (501).

Meanwhile, the girls competition was a three-team race that went down to the final events between the champion Apex (520), Green Hope (496.5) and Cary (473).
