Tri-Nine turns to tri-meets

CARY - Tri-Nine Conference wrestling matches are usually dual matches. The dual format is – hence the name – a match between two teams. It’s one-on-one in one evening.This season, however, things have changed.
Following this past season, the coaches voted on whether or not to change conference matches from duals to tri-meets – three teams and three matches on the same night. The majority of the feedback submitted to the state was in favor of the new format, so the schedules were changed.
Middle Creek coach Butch Stiles likes the opportunities generated by the new set-up.
